Living life with a heart filled with gratitude and a desire to walk with you along the way.
I approach people and conversation with compassion (rachamim), because, to me, leading with kindness (chesed) and respect (kavod) lays the groundwork for personal conversation and holding space for one another.
In creating safe spaces and multiple entryways for all who want to explore and engage in their own Jewish journey.
That there is no such thing as only "one right way" to be authentic in Jewish life.
In welcoming people into a judgement-free community, understanding that we are each a continual work in progress.
That together we will grow and learn about ourselves and about one another.
I am passionate about being present and available to interfaith couples & families, LGBTQ community members, those who are interested in exploring Judaism, those who have felt disenfranchised from the Jewish community and those who desire to grow deeper into their spiritual practices.
I am passionate about guiding and helping in the creation of meaningful rituals to enhance your home and daily life.
I am passionate about validating and supporting each individual in their journey to deepen their own connection to Jewish traditions, rituals and our rich history.
"Rabbi Tashman is the epitome of someone who lives her life according to the Jewish values of Torah, avodah, and gemilut hasadim. Rabbi Tashman is both a brilliant shlicha tzibbur and exceptional provider of compassionate pastoral care. She is well versed in Torah, and her services are engaging and d’var torahs insightful. Officiating funerals, leading shiva minyans, or visiting the sick, Rabbi Tashman has the wonderful gift of being able to say what is needed at just the right time, providing comfort, hope, and solace."

"Five years ago, my father was living in an adult facility with dementia. My mother told me that they had asked her for his funeral plans. We discussed it and I told her that wasn’t her job as his wife but was mine as his son. She agreed and I had a new challenge…what to do.
I had been raised in a mainly secular home. While I knew we were Jewish and I had been to funerals before I had no idea what to do. I know that my father had planned his father’s funeral but I knew little of it.
I sought the counsel of Rabbi Tashman. She understood my questions and made me feel comfortable. I was never left with a feeling of shame due to my ignorance. She didn’t look down on me. She took her time explained a variety of ritual practice and gave me information that allowed me to move forward. I was able to meet with a funeral director and ask the questions and plan for the practices I wanted. When the fateful day arrived, and I was contacted by another rabbi prior to burial I was able to call on those conversations with Rabbi Tashman that enabled me to explain my expectations and see that the day was handled with reverence for my father and mother.
Now, five years later, I realize that Rabbi Tashman’s gentle counsel helped not just me but by extension, my parents. It allowed me to get more connected with Judaism and as a lasting result, brought peace to my mother.
For this, I will be eternally grateful."
